Jill Nganjmirra
Jill Nganjmirra is of Ngalwakadj skin group and Bularhldja clan. Her country is Yaymini. Jill worked as a bible translator for many years, and also worked as an Aboriginal Health Worker Practitioner at Gunbalanya. In the early 1980s she also worked as a school teacher at Nabarlek. She wrote a book of traditional stories Old Woman Emu and was a key contributor to Twined Together, a book about traditional basket weaving, and to Djenj, a book about fish names, traditional fishing practices and stories in Bininj Kunwok dialects. Jill is also a songwriter for Wildflower Band. She is passionate and involved in many projects helping young people in West Arnhem Land to keep learning about country, knowledge and language. She also is a teacher of Kunwinjku to Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
