Dr. Claudia Cialone
Claudia Cialone is a specialist in anthropology, linguistics, cognitive and geospatial sciences, visual art, and project management. From 2015 to 2018, she pursued a PhD at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, focusing on Bininj Kunwok language, culture, and spatial cognition, under the supervision of Prof. Nick Evans and Dr. Murray Garde, which included extensive fieldwork in the Warddeken Indigenous Protected Area, western Arnhem Land, particularly in the outstations of Manmoyi, Mamardawerre and Kabulwarnamyo. Following the completion of her doctorate, Claudia moved to the Northern Territory, Darwin, where she currently resides. From 2018-2024, she was employed by Warddeken Land Management Ltd to co-manage a multidisciplinary project focused on rock art and cultural heritage protection, collaborating with traditional land owners across the 36 clan estates within the Warddeken IPA. Currently, she collaborates with various stakeholders both interstate and NT-based, including many Indigenous organisations, on a range of projects supporting Bininj cultural heritage, language and land management.
